wooden coffin
Timber death container
A wooden coffin is a burial container made of wood, the traditional material for caskets in Western funerals.
The phrase is somewhat redundant since coffins have historically been wooden by default, but it distinguishes from metal or fiberglass alternatives: They lowered the simple wooden coffin into the grave.
