wirelines
Oilfield data conduits
Wirelines are cables or wires used to transmit data, power, or signals—particularly in the oil and gas industry, where a wireline is lowered into a well to gather information or perform operations at depth.
The term also covers telecommunications infrastructure using physical cables rather than wireless transmission: wireline telephone service, wireline internet connections.
As an adjective, wireline distinguishes cable-based systems from wireless alternatives.
