windshields

Automotive front glazing

Windshields are the front windows of vehicles, designed to protect occupants from wind, debris, and weather while allowing clear forward visibility.

The term is primarily American; British English uses windscreen.

Modern windshields are made of laminated safety glass that cracks but doesn't shatter on impact: A rock hit the windshield and left a spider-web crack.
