Leviathan hunting vessel
A whale ship is a vessel equipped for hunting whales, featuring facilities for processing blubber into oil at sea.
The term belongs to the 19th-century heyday of commercial whaling: The whale ship Essex was sunk by a sperm whale in 1820.
