war chariot
Ancient combat vehicle
A war chariot is a light, two-wheeled vehicle drawn by horses, used in ancient warfare for mobility and shock tactics.
Chariots carried a driver and archer or spearman, allowing rapid strikes and retreats across battlefields.
They dominated warfare in Egypt, Mesopotamia, and other ancient civilizations before cavalry made them obsolete: Pharaoh's war chariots pursued the Israelites.
