vinyl pressing
Album production process
Vinyl pressing is the process of manufacturing vinyl records, in which heated polyvinyl chloride is stamped between metal plates to create grooved discs that store audio.
The term also refers to the finished product—a specific edition or run of a record: I found an original vinyl pressing of the album from 1972.
Vinyl pressings vary in quality depending on the source material and manufacturing conditions.
