urban exploration

Urban exploration is the recreational activity of entering and documenting abandoned, off-limits, or hidden human-made structures such as derelict factories, tunnels, rooftops, and drainage systems.

Practitioners, often called urban explorers or urbexers, typically photograph these spaces to capture their decay or forgotten architecture.

The hobby exists in legal gray areas since it often involves trespassing.

We did some urban exploration in the old asylum before they demolished it.
