factory tour
Industrial site walkthrough
A factory tour is a guided visit through a manufacturing facility, showing how products are made.
Some factories offer tours as marketing or public relations—beer breweries and chocolate makers are popular—while others serve educational purposes: The school arranged a factory tour of the local auto plant.
The phrase sometimes describes any behind-the-scenes walkthrough of operations.
