ranker

Smellier, more offensive

A ranker is someone who ranks things—creates ordered lists based on preference or quality: The ranker put chocolate chip cookies at the top.

In military usage, especially British, a ranker is an enlisted soldier or an officer who rose from the enlisted ranks rather than entering as a commissioned officer: He was proud to be a ranker who'd worked his way up.
