underhooks
Arms under armpits
Underhooks are a grappling position where you thread your arms under your opponent's arms from the inside, typically controlling their body at the armpits or around the torso.
In wrestling and mixed martial arts, securing underhooks gives leverage for throws, takedowns, and clinch control: He fought for double underhooks against the cage.
The opposite position—arms over the opponent's—is called overhooks.
