overhook
Outside arm wrap
An overhook is a wrestling and grappling technique where you wrap your arm over your opponent's arm from the outside, controlling it by hooking at the elbow or shoulder.
The opposite of an underhook, it's used to control posture and set up throws or transitions: She secured an overhook and pulled him into a hip throw.
Also called a whizzer when used defensively to counter an underhook.
