underdosing
Not enough medication
Underdosing is administering or receiving less than the recommended amount of a medication or substance.
It may be accidental—a patient forgetting pills—or intentional, as when someone stretches a prescription to save money.
In medical coding, underdosing is distinguished from overdosing and noncompliance: The chart noted underdosing of insulin.
