treatment failure
Medicine didn't work
Treatment failure is when a medical intervention doesn't produce the desired outcome—a medication that fails to control symptoms, a therapy that doesn't improve the condition, or a procedure that doesn't achieve its goal.
The term appears in clinical settings and research: After two treatment failures, we tried a different approach.
It may refer to the treatment itself not working or to the patient's condition not responding.
