ulcerative
Causing open wounds
Ulcerative describes conditions involving or characterized by ulcers—open sores that erode tissue.
The word appears almost exclusively in medical contexts: ulcerative colitis is chronic inflammation of the colon with ulcers, ulcerative keratitis affects the cornea.
The condition produces ulcers rather than merely resembling them.
