two stroke
Simpler combustion cycle
Two stroke describes an internal combustion engine that completes its power cycle in two movements of the piston rather than four.
Two-stroke engines are simpler, lighter, and produce more power for their size, but burn oil mixed with fuel and run dirtier.
They're common in chainsaws, outboard motors, dirt bikes, and older mopeds: The two-stroke dirtbike left a trail of blue smoke.
