AC motors
Current-reversing rotation machines
AC motors are electric motors powered by alternating current rather than direct current.
They convert electrical energy to mechanical rotation and are the workhorses of industrial machinery, appliances, and HVAC systems.
The two main types are induction motors, which use electromagnetic induction to spin the rotor, and synchronous motors, which rotate in lockstep with the frequency of the current.
