Leaner breakfast meat
Turkey bacon is a bacon substitute made from processed turkey meat, shaped and cured to resemble traditional pork bacon strips.
It's marketed as a leaner, lower-fat alternative and is acceptable to those who avoid pork for religious or dietary reasons: I switched to turkey bacon after my doctor told me to cut back on saturated fat.
It crisps less readily than pork bacon and has a milder flavor.
