trigonal
Having three angles
Trigonal describes something having three angles or three sides—essentially triangular.
In crystallography, the trigonal system refers to crystals with threefold rotational symmetry, where rotating the crystal 120 degrees produces an identical appearance.
The term appears in chemistry and mineralogy: trigonal planar geometry, trigonal bipyramidal structure.
