traffic cops
Road patrol enforcers
Traffic cops are police officers assigned to manage vehicle flow and enforce traffic laws.
They direct cars at intersections, issue tickets for speeding or illegal parking, and respond to accidents.
The term sometimes extends figuratively to anyone who controls movement or access: She acts as traffic cop for all the emails coming into the department.
