Missing upper garment
Topless describes a woman whose breasts are exposed, or a place where such exposure occurs: a topless beach, topless dancers.
The word applies almost exclusively to women—a shirtless man is rarely called topless.
Topless also describes things lacking a top: a topless convertible, a topless tower.
