toeshoes

Dancer's reinforced footwear

Toeshoes are ballet slippers with reinforced, boxed tips that allow dancers to support their full body weight on the ends of their toes.

The hardened toe box and shank provide structure for pointe work—dancing on the very tips of the feet.

Also called pointe shoes.

She broke in a new pair of toeshoes before the performance.
