Tightlacing is the practice of wearing a tightly laced corset to dramatically reduce waist size, either for fashion or as a fetish.
Unlike casual corset-wearing, tightlacing involves sustained compression over time to reshape the torso: She practiced tightlacing until she achieved a seventeen-inch waist.
The practice peaked in Victorian times but persists in body modification and fetish communities.
