tesseracts
Cubes with depth-plus
A tesseract is a four-dimensional analog of a cube—a hypercube.
Just as a cube extends a square into three dimensions, a tesseract extends a cube into a fourth spatial dimension.
The concept belongs to geometry and mathematics, though it appears in science fiction and fantasy as a device for representing higher dimensions or impossible spaces: The tesseract folded space, allowing instantaneous travel.
