teres

Round arm muscle

Teres refers to either of two muscles in the shoulder region: the teres major and teres minor.

Both connect the shoulder blade to the upper arm bone and assist in rotating and moving the arm.

The name comes from a Latin word meaning rounded or cylindrical, describing the muscles' shape.

The physical therapist worked on strengthening her teres minor after the rotator cuff injury.
