teen idols

Teen idols are entertainers—usually singers, actors, or musicians—who attract intense devotion from adolescent fans.
The phenomenon typically involves young, attractive performers marketed specifically to teenagers, generating passionate followings that include posters on bedroom walls, fan magazines, and screaming concert audiences.
The Beatles were teen idols before becoming rock legends.
The term often carries a slightly dismissive connotation, implying popularity based more on image and youthful appeal than lasting artistic merit, though many teen idols have gone on to sustained careers.
