tank wagon

Rolling liquid container

A tank wagon is a wheeled vehicle with a large cylindrical container for transporting liquids—water, fuel, milk, or chemicals.

The term applies both to railroad tank cars and to road vehicles like fuel delivery trucks: The tank wagon made its rounds to farms needing diesel.

Also called a tanker.
