tail slide

Deck-end rail grind

A tail slide is a skateboarding trick where the rider balances the board's tail on the edge of an obstacle—typically a ledge or rail—then slides along it before dropping back in.

The move requires shifting weight to keep the tail locked on the surface while momentum carries you forward.

Also performed on snowboards and in freestyle skiing, where the skier slides backward on a rail or box.
