surface dive
Duck under water
A surface dive is a maneuver for descending underwater from the surface without jumping or falling in.
The swimmer floats horizontally, then bends at the waist and drives the head and torso downward while the legs rise above the water, using their weight to propel the body beneath the surface: She executed a quick surface dive to retrieve the goggles from the pool floor.
