subtalar joint
Below the anklebone
The subtalar joint is where the talus bone sits atop the calcaneus (heel bone) in the foot.
This joint allows the foot to rock side to side—the inversion and eversion movements that let you walk on uneven ground.
Ankle sprains often involve subtalar joint injury.
The physical therapist worked on mobilizing my subtalar joint after the fracture healed.
