string arrangements
Music for bows
String arrangements are orchestrations written for stringed instruments—typically violins, violas, cellos, and double basses—that accompany a song or composition.
In popular music, string arrangements often add emotional depth or dramatic sweep to recordings, layering lush harmonies behind vocals or other instruments.
The producer brought in a full orchestra for the string arrangements on the album's ballads.
The term also applies to the written scores themselves or the process of creating them.
