romantic era
Love-filled period
The romantic era is a period in Western cultural history, roughly 1800 to 1850, characterized by emphasis on emotion, individualism, and nature over classical restraint and reason.
In music, literature, and art, romantic era works favor passion, imagination, and the sublime: Beethoven bridged the classical and romantic eras.
The phrase also describes any time marked by romance or idealized love: They look back on college as their romantic era. (Capitalized Romantic Era specifies the historical period.)
