storage cell
Rechargeable energy container
A storage cell is a device that stores electrical energy through reversible chemical reactions—a rechargeable battery or one cell of such a battery.
Unlike primary cells that discharge once, storage cells can be charged, discharged, and charged again: The storage cells in the backup system needed replacement.
Also called a secondary cell or accumulator.
