stop button
Ends the action
A stop button is a control that halts an operation or process.
On media players, the stop button ends playback entirely, distinct from pause.
On machinery, a stop button—often red and prominent—cuts power in normal or emergency situations: Hit the stop button if something goes wrong.
The term extends to any mechanism for bringing something to an abrupt end.
