stonecrop

Drought-tolerant ground cover

Stonecrop is any of various succulent plants in the genus Sedum, typically found growing on rocks, walls, and dry ground.

The plants have thick fleshy leaves that store water, allowing them to thrive in harsh conditions where little else grows: Yellow stonecrop covered the old stone wall.

The name reflects their habit of cropping up on stones.
