ground ivy

Low spreading herb

Ground ivy is a creeping plant with rounded, scalloped leaves and small purple flowers, common in lawns and shaded areas throughout Europe and North America.

Despite the name, it's not related to true ivy but belongs to the mint family.

Also called creeping Charlie, it spreads aggressively and is often considered a weed.
