stogies

Inexpensive rolled tobacco

Stogies are cheap, roughly made cigars, or sometimes any cigar at all.

The word evokes working-class masculinity—men on porches or in garages, not at cigar bars: He sat on the stoop with a stogie clamped in his teeth.

The term comes from Conestoga, Pennsylvania, where such cigars were once made.
