box-pressed
Flat-sided tobacco shape
Box-pressed describes cigars shaped by being packed tightly in square or rectangular molds, giving them flat sides rather than the traditional round cross-section.
The squared edges make them easier to stack and less likely to roll off surfaces.
Box-pressed cigars are prized by some smokers for their distinctive appearance and the way they rest against the lip: I prefer a box-pressed torpedo for the hand feel.
