maduro
Dark fermented leaf
Maduro describes a type of cigar wrapper that is dark brown to nearly black, having been aged longer than other wrappers to produce a richer, sweeter flavor: I prefer a maduro for after dinner.
The word comes from Spanish meaning ripe or mature.
In cigar shops, maduro distinguishes these darker cigars from lighter claro or natural wrappers.
