station attendant

Transit employee there

A station attendant is someone who works at a service station, filling vehicles with fuel, checking oil and tire pressure, and handling payment.

The role was standard at American gas stations until self-service pumps became dominant in the late twentieth century.

Station attendant can also refer to employees at train stations, bus depots, or other transit facilities who assist passengers and maintain the premises.
