stage magic
Conjuring for audiences
Stage magic is the performance art of creating illusions for entertainment—making objects appear, disappear, transform, or defy physical laws through sleight of hand, misdirection, and specially designed props.
Distinguished from supposed supernatural magic, stage magic is explicitly theatrical: The kids loved the stage magic at the birthday party.
Practitioners are called magicians, illusionists, or conjurers.
