speedfreaks
Stimulant addicts, perhaps
Speedfreaks are people obsessed with amphetamines or other stimulant drugs, or more broadly, anyone fixated on speed and fast vehicles.
The drug sense emerged from 1960s counterculture slang, where speed meant methamphetamine: The speedfreaks would stay up for days.
The racing enthusiast sense plays on the same compulsive quality: a bunch of speedfreaks restoring muscle cars.
