sound energy
Vibrations carrying force
Sound energy is energy transmitted through vibrations in a medium—air, water, or solid materials.
When something vibrates, it creates pressure waves that travel outward; these waves carry energy that our ears perceive as sound.
The term appears mainly in physics education and discussions of acoustics: Sound energy from the explosion shattered windows blocks away.
