soul sister

Female spiritual twin

A soul sister is a woman with whom one shares a deep spiritual or emotional bond—a kindred spirit who understands you profoundly: She's not my biological sister, but she's my soul sister.

The term emerged from Black American culture, where it also meant a Black woman, expressing solidarity and shared identity.

Now widely used for any close female friendship that feels like family.
