P-Funk
Cosmic soul subgenre
P-Funk is a style of funk music pioneered by George Clinton and his bands Parliament and Funkadelic in the 1970s.
The sound blends heavy bass lines, psychedelic rock, and sprawling, often absurdist concepts about motherships and interplanetary groove.
P-Funk also refers to the collective of musicians—the Parliament-Funkadelic family—who created and performed it: Dr. Dre sampled a lot of P-Funk.
