solubilizing

Rendering into solution

Solubilizing is making something dissolve in a solution, particularly substances that don't readily dissolve on their own.

The term appears most often in chemistry and pharmaceuticals, where additives help drugs become soluble enough for the body to absorb: solubilizing agents improve the bioavailability of poorly water-soluble compounds.

Also spelled solubilising in British English.
