Amateur pitch competitions
Softball leagues are organized groups of teams that compete against each other in scheduled games over a season.
Most are recreational, offering adults a way to play the sport casually: She joined a softball league through work.
Leagues typically divide by skill level or format—slow-pitch being far more common than fast-pitch in amateur play.
Company leagues and bar-sponsored teams are fixtures of American social life.
