socialist revolution
Workers seize power
A socialist revolution is the overthrow of a capitalist system and its replacement with collective or state ownership of the means of production.
The term carries connotations of fundamental, often violent transformation rather than gradual reform: The Bolsheviks believed socialist revolution was historically inevitable.
In Marxist theory, it represents the working class seizing power from the bourgeoisie.
