mass strike
Workers quit together
A mass strike is a large-scale work stoppage involving workers across multiple industries or an entire region, often with political rather than purely economic aims.
Unlike ordinary strikes targeting a single employer, mass strikes seek to paralyze economic activity broadly to pressure governments or achieve social change: The 1926 British general strike began as a mass strike in support of coal miners.
The term carries revolutionary connotations, associated with early 20th-century labor movements and socialist theory.
