sliding tackle
Legs-first defensive move
A sliding tackle is a soccer move where a player slides along the ground, typically feet-first, to knock the ball away from an opponent.
It's a high-risk defensive technique—effective when timed well, but likely to draw a foul or card if it catches the player instead of the ball: He came in with a sliding tackle and got sent off.
