skewedness

Lack of symmetry

Skewedness is the quality of being skewed—tilted, distorted, or asymmetrical.

In statistics, it describes how far a distribution departs from symmetry: The skewedness of the data suggested outliers were pulling the average upward.

More generally, it indicates bias or imbalance: the skewedness of media coverage.

The more common noun form is skew or skewness.
